PREPARATION
Think about what you’d accept in a roommate!

You will be matched on 10 important roommate variables, namely: Metro, City, Rent, Sex, Age, Smoking, Children, Pets, Sexual Preference and Personality Compatibility(1).

You will be matched on BOTH in what you want in a roommate AND if you fit the other person’s criteria as well. Roommate Express is NOT a “bulletin board” service. You may change any of your variables at ANY time.

We will ask you for a work, roommate and two friend references. Your application will not be accepted without offering at least 2 of 4 references.

Your application and compatibility questionnaire will take from 10 to 15 minutes to fill out. Please allow time to complete your application. Please be aware that our web site will time out your roommate application if left unattended more than 2 hours. This is a security feature.

Our web site will ask you to create a 6- character password so you can sign onto our web site at anytime to check for new matches. Your password will not be case sensitive.

Your new matches will appear and they will be immediately notified about you. Changing your criteria is very handy when you need new matches immediately.

Call your matches! Your matches are waiting to hear from you. Don’t wait for people to call you. The people who are good about calling and replying are the ones who will quickly get a roommate. Do not assume that a person is not interested if they do not call your first or do not immediately return your call. They may not have received your message! Reconsider people you may have written off prematurely.

Notify us if you find someone who has already found a roommate. You may do so automatically at http://www.roommateexpress.com/inactive.asp.

Visit the Roommate Express web site to review your matches. Inactivated matches will disappear from your list automatically. New matches will be emailed immediately if you paid for our instant Email MatchLine.

Revise your comments. Your matches will get the same information about you that you see on your printout of them. You can always fine tune your application when you are an active Roommate Express client.
